First Time Deposit Bonus, what is it?

The First Time Deposit Bonus is a bonus that is rewarded to new players who make a real money deposit for the first time. Ofcourse this will encourage players to create an account at pokerrooms which offer a First Time Deposit Bonus. Most pokerrooms nowadays offer this. 10% bonus or 20% bonus are quite standard. Absolute Poker offers a 35% First Time Deposit Bonus. The bonus will be credited to your bonus account and will not be transferred to your player’s account until you have reached the qualification criteria. Normally you will have to play 10 hands for every bonus Dollar. It works exactly the same way as the Reload Bonus. At some sites you will have to reach a certain amount of player points (sometimes called frequent player points). The bonus will still released be at the rate of $1 per 10 player points but 1 player point is awarded for every pot of $20 or more where you were dealt a hand, and half a point for pots between $10 and $20 where you were dealt a hand. This method of using player points favours the higher limit player. You can see why pokerrooms do want to promote the higher limits: the rake they will receive will be higher.

An example.

I want to play at Absolute Poker because they offer me 35% First Time Deposit Bonus and I want to take advantage of it. I open a new account and make a deposit of $200. Absolute Poker immediately credits my bonus account, which is connected to every player’s account, with $70. I start playing, and after I have played 100 hands, $10 is transferred from my bonus account to my player’s account. Great! In fact, every 100 hands, $10 will be transferred from my bonus account to my real money player’s account as long as I have a balance in my bonus account. To keep a balance in my bonus account, I make use of the Reload Bonus, which will top up my bonus account with $200 every time I make another deposit of $1000. Additionally, while I am playing, I receive AR Points (Absolute Reward points). 1 AR point for each hand I play. It does not matter which limit I am playing. These AR points can be used for tournament entries, and in the near future to redeem them for Absolute Poker merchandise in the soon to be opened Absolute Poker shop. Every time I make a new deposit to make optimum use of the Reload Bonus, I receive 4 AR points for every $1 I deposit. While playing I can win any of the other bonusses that they offer: High Hand Jackpot, Bad Beat Jackpot etc. All of these bonusses mentioned above are free. You can withdraw your money 24 hours after you have made a deposit. I do this regularly. The same money goes back and forth between Neteller and Absolute Poker, constantly topping my bonus account balance up, collecting Neteller points and AR points in the meantime.
